How do we deliver products?
All orders placed online will be delivered via courier on a 2-3 day service (1 day to pack, 1 day to deliver). We can deliver larger orders on our own vehicles but only if within 80mile radius of our warepouse address in East Grinstead and this service will be 5-7working days, we will contact you to discuss delivery options on larger orders within reach of our own fleet.
Which couriers do we use?
We use various different courier companies dependent on the size and weight of the consignment. For most long length deliveries we use DX. For larger pallet orders we use Palletline network
Do I need to be in to sign for the delivery?
Yes, somebody will need to be in to sign for the delivery. If there is nobody in at the address then the courier should leave a card to let you know they have been. The card will include contact information to your local courier depot and will also include a consignment number for you to re-arrange delivery. It is possible for us to leave a note for the courier to leave on the doorstep or in a cupboard but it is down to the discretion of each driver and the various courier depots as to whether or not they will do this. Leaving your own note on the doorstep with directions on where to leave the package can also help, but this is done at your own risk.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery cost is determined by volumetric weight. The bigger and heavier your consignment, the more costly it is to deliver. Your total delivery cost will be shown at the time of checkout when you complete your order. Be sure to check you are happy with this charge before you compelte payment. (As a rough guide we can deliver a few lengths of steel gutter at £35+VAT. A few small accessories that will fit into a large box will be £15+VAT. Larger 3m long pallet orders will be around £127.50+VAT
How long does delivery take to arrive?
We operate on a 2-3 working day delivery service. Your order will be picked, packed and collected by the courier company the following working day after the order was taken. The courier delivery service in most cases is the next working day. (Example if you place your order on a Friday it will be picked and despatched on the Monday for delivery on the Tuesday). Note that whilst our couriers offer this service as a Next day service is it not a guaranteed service and in the eventuality there is a delay then neither the courier or Southern Sheeting Supplies will be held liable for any costs incurred on site due to material not being delivered.
Do you deliver abroad?
We do not offer to deliver abroad due to the expensive shipping insurance costs. We will happily arrange delivery to shipping companies at UK docks or you are welcome to collect from our warehouse and arrange own transport.
Can I collect products from you?
Yes, you are welcome to collect from our warehouse and office premises in East Grinstead, West Sussex. Please see the About Us page for full address and opening hours. Please note that we store the steel guttering at a separate address so it is important to call through your order 24hrs in advance of collection so that it can be picked, packed and ready for your collection.
What if my delivery address is outside the standard delivery area?
If your delivery address is Scottish Highlands or Island, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man etc then an additional delivery surcharge will apply as these harder to reach areas are more costly for us to send items to. If you would like your order sent to one of these areas PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE YOUR ORDER ONLINE as you will be charged a standard delivery charge. We will then need to cancel the order and refund your money before processing the order again with the correct delivery charges applied.
Can I upgrade my delivery service after already paying for my order?
If you have ordered and paid for a delivery online the order will automatically be processed with our standard next working day delivery service. We aim to book these with our courier within a few minutes of receiving the order but if you want to upgrade the delivery service then please call us immediately after placing your order online.
Can I track my order?
We are not currently set-up to offer real time order tracking. If Your order is late then please get in touch and we will track it with the courier to give you an updated status.
What if my item is out of stock or there is not enough to fulfil the whole order?
We hold large stock levels on all of our items listed as stock items so it is very rare that we cannot ship your complete order. However, if this situation does arise we will contact you straight away and discuss the option of either part shipping the order or waiting to ship it all at once.
